Final Beep Test - 5.31.13
For our final beep test, I reached level 6.8. This was an improvement of the previous times we've done beep tests because I got to about level 6 everytime. The reason why I think i've improved slightly is because I have been making better choices, both during PE and at home; by going on runs with the family and I have noticed that I can endure pain more because I put more of an effort into running and don't give up as much, whereas in the beginning of the year I felt really uncomfortable on the first two levels of when we did the beep test.
Today our class combined with Mr. Pederson's senior class. We were supposed to find a partner from his class and first of all, we shared a little bit about each other. My partner was quite involved and enjoyed doing PE and mentioned how she set goals; both for school, post-secondary, and further into the future; she also said that she wanted to become a RCMP. It inspired me to make my own goals, not only for school, but for the future as well. Afterwards, we all played dodgeball and bench ball in the small gym for half of the block and for the other half, we went into the weight room to learn some exercises such as ball crunches and squats with the bosu balls to work out your abs & glutes. This somewhat worked towards setting proper goals and although it had to do with PE, it was an example of how you can make goals in any situation.

Goals for the Weight Room
My goal for the weight room was to work towards "getting fit" or "stronger", although the exercises I did were primarily to do with working out my legs, which included doing exercises for the hamstring and calves. I did a total of ten different workouts to accomplish my goal, which included doing the seated leg press, leg curl, a run around the school to work towards my goal of keeping up the pace while running which has to do with the idea of getting fit, about 15 step-ups, 15 standing calve raises / each leg, the elliptical "cross-running" machine, lunges across the small gym, squats with the bosu ball, using the bike and lastly, skipping with a jump-rope. I took 15 minutes to do each exercise. Overall, I think I felt like I had a pretty good idea of how to work towards my goal.

cayleigh's response
Leadership means being able to take the initiative to do things that contribute to making our PE class better to be in and somewhat direct people if they need help. I think everyone has the capability of being a leader, but specifically people who are focused and like to get a lot done to help out our whole class.
During PE this year, every day I come to class already knowing that I have lots to do and prepare myself by being ready in my PE strip all the time and I try to be enthusiastic about whatever we are doing that day (but sometimes it could depend on how my day has already been; sometimes I don’t always have a great day, therefore I have a lack of energy). Usually, the days we have fitness are the days that I can participate to my best effort because we have to do things independently, and that way I can work hard, but at my own pace. The days that are somewhat of a struggle for me are the days that we have a choice to do activities, but sometimes I’m not always the best at it. Each time I come to class I try to be prepared for whatever will happen and try to keep up a positive attitude. During fitness days, I try to push myself to do activities. I don’t necessarily give up, but when I get tired I don’t put as much effort into doing things. The fitness activities I prefer are the beep test and the circuit. Some fitness goals I have for the rest of the year are that when I get tired, I would like to keep up the pace at which I’m already at. By the end of the year, I would like to be able to feel that I have improved by doing things in fitness, for instance by running for a long period of time without getting so tired and possibly even do PE outside of school (or PE homework) by myself.
Overall I think I deserve a B(-) .
